This past week on doctor Galati’s weekly radio program, YOUR HEALTH FIRST, he had a segment discussing the importance of discussing your weight with your physician. All too often a person's weight, especially when they are overweight or obese, is a topic that is not discussed in detail. In many cases, elevated blood pressure, abnormal blood sugar readings, abnormal X-rays and other scans are discussed because of the potential complications that may develop.
The problem is that being overweight or obese poses a tremendous health hazard to you and this is a biometric that is being ignored. While none of us like to talk about our weight, especially if we are overweight, keep in mind that much of the chronic disease that we see is directly related to obesity. Without obesity, you could only see say that the number of cases of diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and fatty liver would be tremendously reduced.
